FATHER’S, DO NOT PROVOKE YOUR

CHILDREN TO WRATH

SCRIPTURE: Ephesians 6:4  And, ye fathers, provoke not your children to wrath: but bring them up in the nurture and admonition of the Lord.

DEVOTION:  Fathers—and mothers—can and must direct and discipline their children. This may anger the child like we ourselves become angry with someone who corrects us. Eventually, however, appropriate discipline will strengthen us and out relationships.
     Wrath is, however, violent anger, rage, fury, resulting in inappropriate discipline styles that leave a child feeling worthless and inhuman. Wrath physically or verbally “kills off” parts (more…)

ARE YOU PUNISHING OR DISCIPLINING YOUR CHILD?

     Confusion exists among both parents and professionals when it comes to differentiating between punishment and discipline.
     Webster’s dictionary defines punishment: “a penalty for a crime or offense; to injure or hurt.” It defines discipline: “training intended to produce a specified character or pattern of behavior.”
