Thank you to those of you who made your way to the end of this study. It is time to make a check list of items that I have chosen (not necessarily the best list) as essential to the Godly, moral life. I hope this list will be helpful as you and I continue to seek out an authentic lifestyle as servants of the Lord God.

  1. The Ten Commandments (Exodus 20)
  2. The Great Commandment (Matthew 22:37-40)
  3. The Golden Rule (Matthew 7:12)
  4. The Love Chapter (1 Corinthians 13)
  5. The Beatitudes (Matthew 5:1-12)
  6. The Lord’s Prayer (Matthew 6:9-13)
  7. The Shepherd Psalm (Psalm 23)
  8. The Law on Heart and Mind (Jeremiah 31:31-34)
  9. Fear of the Lord (Proverbs 9:10a)
  10. About our Labor (Ecclesiastes 3:13)

Maybe a good overall summary of our approach to the Godly, moral life are these verses from the Apostle Paul:

1 Thessalonians 5:16-22   Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you. Do not quench the Spirit. Do not despise the words of prophets, but test everything; hold fast to what is good; abstain from every form of evil.

Praise be to God who brings us the victory in Jesus Christ. Amen.
