DECEMBER 2013 WELCOME MESSAGE
It came upon the heels of November, a month of celebrations for my husband Monte and I: the first snowfall , the idea of Santa , a sixteenth birthday, and a family get-together that included latkes in recognition that the first day of Hanukkah coincided with Thanksgiving. Monte, Claudette (a writers group friend) and I also attended the Kristallnacht Service 2013 at Seton Hill University (PA) in Greensburg.
I responded to the WordPress NaBloPoMo Nchallenge (a variation of the Write a Novel in a Month challenge) to write a post each day in November and succeeded, except for November 1 (I didn’t see the email until November 2). It was an opportunity to display photographs (my favs: Osprey and Seagull Photos , In the Pink: Rt. 30, Westmoreland County, PA and New England , and Men at Work . The challenge also provided an opportunity to document some of our experiences from our September travels to New England: Haskell Free Library and Opera House a.k.a. Bibliothèque et salle d’opéra Haskell , and Wallis Sands Beach, New Hampshire (Sept. 2013) . However, I don’t like posting daily on this site (I post Sunday, Tuesday and Thursday—plus I do a photo post on Saturday). I must do other activities, and I don’t like sending daily emails.
During November we experienced a spell of mild weather. Then Old Man Winter stormed in, giving us a sample of weather to come. I just hope it’s not too severe, and that the days it is bitter cold and snowy I will accomplish some novel writing. Looking forward to that.
Have a safe December and a very Merry Christmas—and welcome 2014 in with joy.
